Another post, another subject. This is not so much of a 'subject' but meant to be a prologue aspect of this blog which yes I know is supposed to be introductory and should have been the first post but well, welcome aboard the crazy train. I am sure you've been wondering with the 2 previous posts what to really expect from let's talk subject, wondering whether or not it would be a blog you'd fancy tagging along with.
Best believe you're in the right place and If my plan worked🤞, I wanted you to try and see a trend and aswell deduce what this blog could be about.
Guided by basic questions you may have, let me introduce you to Let's talk subject;
Why did I start this blog?
The true back story is sometime last year a cousin of mine suggested I start a blog because he felt I could write and make a difference with what I wrote. I didn't quite believe him at the time; not because I didn't think I could write but because I didn't think I could write something off my mind, my experiences and the content I interacted with and have someone relate to what I had to say. However, I didn't completely discard the thought I actually took it up, watching YouTube videos on how to start a blog; from creating an account to choosing a name to evaluating what content to put up and then one other step I came to learn was discovering the 'why'. I up to this point didn't know what it was and presently is. I put it off for a while because I could hardly come up with a name let alone content and now I had a why staring me in the eye.
Fast forward to early January I had my answer. Now we're here, a shoutout to my cousin, Nkandu. Odds are I would probably never have thought of this so thank you.
What is the aim of this blog?
No one likes a blunt writer whose personality doesn't shine through and who you can't connect with, even if it's in black and white!
My aim aside the obvious, having relatable content properly displayed, is to reach out to anyone and everyone willing to read. I've learnt that your own shared experiences and lessons learnt directly or indirectly could be what another soul needs to hear. To be expected are topics of encouragement, relatable storylines we sometimes would rather shy away from, shared insight from experience sparking motivation, diverse subjects that affect us one way or another leaving you informed after a read, sometimes comforted because you are not alone.
I also see it as a platform I could use to tell a story just the way I want it told.
A quick story not too far off ;a few days back I was complaining about how I have heard all the music I liked from my playlist and my friends' likewise and I was told, "if you feel like that produce your own music that you want to listen to."🤦♀️. In another sphere I am now living that dream, writing what I'd love to read.
What inspired the name of this blog?
To my muse,it was from a book suggested to me in line with starting a blog, Americanah. It wasn't at all related infact I just read the word subject and well let's talk subject was born.
Why on a reading platform?
The reading platform is to encourage reading, quite debatable,
a good reader after all makes a good leader. Beside that mainly I love to write and I feel I express myself better doing so in comparison to speech. I must admit though that writing is all fun and games until you have an audience.
The task with written work is finding a voice in between the lines without verbal input. A challenge after all sharpens you, here's to this experience.
How periodic are the posts?
Directly answering the question I will be posting in a 2 week cycle of Saturday prominently and/or sometimes during the week as I am doing now which you will also notice over time.
Who are my audience?
Honestly anyone willing to read. It's not restricted to a specific group at all. In an instance or two you may relate more or less to a post but there will always be something to take from it.
What's with the picture at the bottom of each post?
If you've noticed from my consecutive posts, every post including this one showcases art I've worked on in the interval from the last post till the present. I get lazy at times to create and especially practice hobbies. To be encouraged I set it as a goal for myself to work on something worth sharing in a span of 2 weeks. My showcase of growth in my art is to move you to do whatever makes you happy in your own way.
Hopefully you get to know me through this journey and more importantly dig deeper into yourself to discover and grow into what you want to be or add on to who you are.
My bio has my contact email address if you have a question, suggestion or anything in that line.
Feel free to share my link, comment and look out for my periodic posts.
Thank you for checking out this post and if you haven't already checked out the previous 2 don't be shy😊.
Thank your for the support. Until the next subject take care✌
